Introduction
Your catalog needs to be properly configured to ensure that the repricing functions correctly.
This setup should be completed with the assistance of a member of the Multiply customer success team.

Price bounds
Price bound parameters
If you have chosen the margin rate (at a catalog level) or the ratio method, this is the place where you will provide Multiply with the rates.
If you have a minimum landed margin ensure you have a minimum listing margin rate too.
How should we prioritize bound parameters?
If you decide to configure more than one bound calculation method, Multiply will follow rules in order to use only one.
Few rules are available, in this section, you can chose the one that suits you.
Find here the different choices at your disposal:
How should we resolve conflicts?
What is a conflict? A conflict is an inconsistent situation that prevents Multiply from recommending optimally.
If you have entered two different calculation methods for the minimum and maximum bounds, this situation can happen; there are several methods to handle this situation.

Additional safety with hard bounds
Hard bounds are a mechanism that can protect you from possible errors in setting price bounds. With hard bounds, you define, for each SKU, a hard minimum and hard maximum that cannot be exceeded, regardless of the normal bound calculation.
Hard bounds have to be defined manually or with a manual file upload. By default, hard bounds are not mandatory. This is a choice that prioritizes convenience. To prioritize safety, we recommend that you make hard bounds mandatory.
Should we use guessed reference prices to set price bounds?
Unless you supply Multiply with reference prices explicitly, Multiply picks the first price it sees on a marketplace as your reference price – we call these guessed reference prices. This is a convenient but fallible method, that may in some circumstances produce incorrect results, far removed from the reality of your prices.
Because of this limitation, Multiply, by default, will not allow you to set price bounds based on guessed reference prices. Even though the ability exists in Multiply, we recommend against lifting this safety mechanism.
While the known error rate of guessed reference prices has so far been very low, we have no way of guaranteeing their correctness. For this reason, using guessed reference prices as the basis of your minimum prices exposes you to a serious risk of selling your products at a loss.
Be careful, if you have initially chosen to use guessed reference prices and you finally decide to change for supplied reference prices: the reference prices initially recovered will not be used anymore in the calculation of a bounds using ratios. Remember to import your reference prices as soon as possible, ideally before changing this option.
Rates
Multiply needs these rates, which differ from country to country and therefore from the catalog to catalog, to calculate your daily revenue.
Costs
If you have chosen the margin rate method to calculate your bounds, it is mandatory to provide us with the costs.
This part allows you to add the general costs related to your catalog: fixed costs, transportation costs or variable costs. Multiply offers different integrated costs that you will have to set up first (Account configuration > Cost Types), but you can also create your own costs.
- Purchase costs are obviously to be set at the SKU level because they are different from one product to another.
- Transportation and commission costs can be set at the catalog or SKU level.
Pricing
Pricing strategy
Multiply uses pricing strategies to recommend the optimal prices for your products. This section is filled in by default when creating your catalog. Multiply develops specific algorithms for each marketplace.
Feel free to reach out to us to refine the elements of this strategy and develop a tailored approach.
Apply price recommendations automatically
If you check this box, Multiply will:
- Observe
- Recommend
- Send a target price for each active in stock SKU with valid bounds
How ? The price will be sent to the marketplace directly and will enrich a feed whose URL must be integrated with your feed manager.
WARNING : before activating the automatic sending of prices, you must make sure that > your catalog is uploaded in Multiply (delay: a few hours) > your offers are observed (delay: a few hours) > your bounds are calculated (time: a few hours) > your recommendations are valid and consistent with your strategy
If you uncheck this box, Multiply will continue to observe and recommend but will not send the target price.
SKU filtering
This section allows you to set up specific ways to process your SKUs. We invite you to contact the Customer Success team who will be able to help you with these particular settings.
